**Your new role**

Your duties will include:

- Accountable to contribute to the development and maintenance of project planning and performance processes in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards.
- Assist with preparations for project test, evaluation and acceptance programs.
- Research, draft and prepare briefs, correspondence and reports including submissions for committee consideration.
- Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member and provide constructive feedback.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders and understand their expectations and concerns.
- Adjust project management methodologies to comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.

**What you'll need to succeed**
You will be accountable for organising workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. You will interpret and provide advice within the Project Control function based on legislation, policy and procedures. You will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews and perform procedural and administrative support work to achieve results.

The APS5 Project Support Officer will coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members.

The APS5 Project Support Officer may be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.

A background in Defence or Defence Industry is highly desirable for this role.
