The Navy's APS 6 Web and Digital Designer assists in the delivery of web projects and services, whilst providing expert advice to internal stakeholders in the creation of optimised web user experiences and content and graphic creation.

Working within the Navy Communications and Media Team, the Navy's Web and Digital Designer harnesses information and opportunities to improve the user journey and the user experience of both external and internal audiences in a large enterprise web environment. They will contribute their expertise to the continuous improvement of the Defence enterprise web environment, via the provision of exceptional customer service, project delivery, governance and training that guides the efficient and effective delivery of digital initiatives.

Additionally, the Navy's Web and Digital Designer supports the creation and compliance review of content on the Defence enterprise website, and creates digital design in line with Navy’s brand and strategic communication outputs with excellent attention to detail, they are able to prioritise work in line with broader organisation objectives and commit to tight deadlines when needed.

**About our Team**
The Navy's Web and Digital Designer is part of the Navy Communication Branch within Chief of Staff Navy Headquarters, Russell (COSNHQ). The branch is a blended workforce with a mix of APS staff members and Navy uniformed personnel. The branch in total has approximately 21 staff members that are located in NHQ, Campbell Park and Fleet Bases East and West.

The branch encompasses staff with a broad range of skills; including media and marketing skills; social media experts, imagery specialists, public affairs officers and strategic communication advisors. The team works collaboratively in developing tactical and strategic communication outcomes for Navy and the Department of Defence. The role has one direct report.

The Navy's Web and Digital Designer will have experience in digital technologies, user research and digital design, a commitment to web standards, the ability to develop enterprise information architecture and experience with wire-framing and prototyping digital solutions.

They will be responsible for data monitoring and analysis, in order to provide evidence-based strategic insights and recommendations regarding content performance, search engine optimisation, quality assurance and standards compliance.

The Navy's Web and Digital Designer will contribute to web enhancement project delivery, website building and enthusiastically assist with the operational tasks and triage web support requests.
