Our client is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join their fast growing transport company. This is a newly created position working with both key internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships to drive a value-adding procurement strategy.

The Role:

- Identification of opportunities for improvement in current procurement practices.
- Formalising and documenting procurement processes and procedures for adoption across the business.
- Leading key sourcing activities including RFP’s, RFT’s and RFQ’s.
- Presentation of business cases and recommendations to senior/executive leadership teams.
- Drafting and negotiating new supplier agreements.
- Undertaking market research, pricing, and benchmarking reviews.
- Reviewing and consolidating existing supplier arrangements to ensure aligned with internal criteria.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- On-going contract and supplier management.
- Upskilling and training of stakeholders across the business in procurement practices.
- Development and implementation of social procurement strategy.
- Reviewing, reporting on, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations for Social Procurement.

What you will need:

- At least 5 years’ experience in a procurement/purchasing role.
- Tertiary qualification in business management, supply chain management or related discipline is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in developing a procurement function or improving existing procurement practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision.
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated enthusiastic approach to day-to-day business operations and positive approach to a continual changing work environment.
- Strong computer literacy, MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
