Voted as one of the 10 top manufacturing companies in Australia known for creative innovation, our Melbourne-based client is maintaining a focus on fully-automated systems, which can be utilised by various clientele.

Our client is seeking a talented Procurement Specialist to join their Melbourne head office. This is an essential role in the business and will consist of working with both the internal design and manufacturing teams to ensure the best value procurement and supply chain capabilities are being practised at all stages of the Product Development Cycle.

**The Role**:

- Focused on building strong working relationships with all various internal departments.
- Work collaboratively to develop sourcing strategies and supply solutions
- Core focus on sourcing, supplier relationship management, cost reductions, planning and forecasting, and inventory management.
- Help to create the Procurement Function Framework.
- Lead procurement input into projects and manufacturing whilst supporting all phases of the product lifecycle.
- Analyze and collect supply-chain data to support estimating on future projects.
- Negotiate strategic purchasing agreements to provide agility in the supply chain through supporting the sourcing strategy.
- Maintain and update a detailed BOM (bill of materials) cost tracker.
- Liaise with suppliers cost estimations of parts and ability to deliver on expected demand.
- Work closely with Logistics/Shipping by supporting with freight/logstics needs throughout the product development lifecycle.

**What you will need**:

- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role across technical and strategic sourcing.
- Automotive/Engineering Procurement background is highly desired.
- Strong analytical, influencing, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in low-med volume, short lead time procurement.
