GTE is an engineering firm specialising in control systems, electrical engineering, industrial communications and functional safety within the mining and industrial sectors.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Controller to join our team. Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, this position will be responsible for contributing to the development and preparation of GTE projects ensuring they meet the required performance targets in relation to time, cost and quality.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Review and understand client scope of works and project requirements, and transfer these into systems that enable effective project control.
- Prepare and manage the costs, schedule and scope of projects to ensure they are delivered on time, safely and within budget.
- Work with Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts to coordinate the development and implementation of project schedules and commercial elements in conjunction with Project Delivery Plans.
- Assist with project initiation documentation including estimates, project execution plans and project control plans.
- Review resource loading across GTE’s portfolio of ongoing projects to help identify schedule constraints to be addressed by the relevant project manager.
- Work with project teams to maintain an up-to-date schedule for the life of the project by monitoring progress, expenses and forecast to complete.
- Provide technical expertise to the project teams in monitoring and controlling project costs.
- Ensure variations are managed and communicated across all relevant stakeholders and that cost trends are maintained for forecasting purposes.
- Conduct variance analysis for cost and schedule, including identification of exceptions and corrective actions as appropriate.
- Develop timely and accurate status reports for all stages of the project life cycle by monitoring the progress of activities and tracking performance.
- Manage the timely close out of projects.
**Experience & Qualifications**:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Formal project management certification (e.g., Prince2, PMP) is highly desirable.
- Experience in a planning function and use of planning tools, such as MS Project or Primavera is highly desirable.
