**About the program**

The focus of this position is to provide child focused early intervention and generalist casework within CatholicCare’s Child, Youth and Family Support Services. The role is working across the Upper and Lower North Shore with families that have moderate needs and risk issues. This is an exciting opportunity to work with families experiencing child and family difficulties, domestic violence and the impacts of mental health.

**Duties**:

- Conduct thorough assessments of families and young people to ensure the child’s and family’s needs are addressed
- Work with families with children on a range of issues that include Domestic Violence, Mental Health and Alcohol and drug misuse in the family context and child safety.
- Conduct regular and timely client reviews to assess family progress
- Develop a knowledge and understanding of relevant referral agencies for client families to ensure effective networking and referral procedures.

**Requirements**:

- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate area e.g., Social Work, Social Science, Welfare, Psychology, or child development/Education related discipline and/or demonstrated relevant industry experience
- Experience in supporting families and children in complex case work
- Thorough knowledge of the potential impact of trauma and disadvantage on children
- Counselling skills and experience
- Working With Children Check and Criminal History Check
- NSW Driver’s license and insured vehicle
