Sydney- Ancillary Areas- PermanentOur client is a global trading firm seeking an enthusiastic junior to join their metal trading desk as a logistics coordinator in their Sydney office.

Broadly speaking, the successful Logistics Coordinator applicant would be managing a range of tasks in support of the Australian metal traders, who are based in the firm’s Sydney office. The metals desk coordinates the physical sales and delivery of metal products - primarily copper, lead, manganese, iron ore and zinc.

**Responsibilities**
- Logistics:

- i.e. Coordinating movements of cargo either in bulk or container shipments in co-operation with the chartering department
- Hedging:

- i.e. Calculation of metal quantity and foreign currency amounts to be priced in accordance with the terms of each respective contracts administered.
- Contact to clients and other offices:

- i.e. Correspondence on forecast production/material availability, transit and stock situations, documentation, material invoicing, managing contractual exposure and claim handling, maintain business relationships with local producers and service providers.
- Insurance:

- i.e. Insuring risks of each transport as well as material in transport, with thorough understanding of Incoterms 2010 and 2020.
- Informational services:

- i.e. Researching and developing market knowledge specific to the industry, covering political, economic, business conditions of relevance, ASX market monitoring and equity market

Prior Experience
- Preferably you will have some prior import/export trade logistics experience.
