We are the City of Melbourne, a place to **be bold and inspirational.** **About the Role** Join our team as a Core Services Specialist, where you'll play a key role in managing and supporting CoM's core platforms. You'll be responsible for the lifecycle management of critical technology infrastructure systems, providing second and third-level technical support to ensure seamless delivery of services. Your role will involve executing daily operational tasks to maintain smooth infrastructure operations, while ensuring continuous access to corporate systems. Additionally, you'll ensure the security of accountable infrastructure systems, monitoring and maintaining them in line with CoM's policies, standards, and procedures. **In this role, you will be responsible for**: - Management and support of core infrastructure systems. - Lifecycle management of infrastructure solutions from their introduction through to retirement. - Provide second and third level technical support services ensuring response times are within agreed service levels. - Implement and monitor security controls for infrastructure systems. - Develop and maintain policies and procedures in relation to CoM hardware and software infrastructure. **What you will bring to the role** - A relevant tertiary qualification, industry qualifications or equivalent experience - 5+ years’ experience managing large, complex Infrastructure Systems, including; - Microsoft Server Platforms and Ecosystem - Experince with Active Directory, Group Policy, EntraID, VMWare vSphere 8.x, NetApp SAN Management, Cloud Services (AWS preferred) - Microsoft 365 administration - Enterprise Backup and Recovery (Commvault/Metallic) - Microsoft Intune - Microsoft Exchange (On premise and Cloud) - Experience with Infrastructure as Code products like Terraform and Ansible - Experience with PowerShell - Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g. VPN, DNS, load balancing) and security best practice - ITIL Foundation certification or demonstrated experience working in a service management environment - Demonstrated experience managing lifecycle processes (ie. design, build, and maintenance activities) in a comparable environment - Demonstrated experience in producing technical documentation including build/as-built documentation and process maps. **How to apply** This is a fantastic and dynamic opportunity to build on the career you have developed to date and become an integral part of the vibrant energy that defines Melbourne city.
