Our client is a tier 1 mining company and is seeking an Intellectual Property Strategy & Portfolio Specialist

One of Australia’s leading resources and mining organisations is offering a great opportunity for an Intellectual Property Strategy and Portfolio Specialist.

**Your new role**
We are seeking someone who will drive on-going development and execution of Intellectual Property (IP) strategy company wide.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

- Develop and drive delivery of IP strategy across the company by developing and delivering IP action plans, supporting development of portfolio strategies for relevant business units, and uplifting IP capabilities in first line teams
- Identify IP value capture opportunities, deploying relevant metrics and tools to value and track IP assets' performance and portfolio alignment to strategy
- Incorporate IP risk management into strategy, and provide strategic input to high risk and high value intellectual property matters
- Assess external IP landscape and support processes to obtain and synthesise information about competitive IP landscape for use on specific matters
- Continually grow understanding of technical developments in key innovation areas, including software development, data analytics, machine learning, geoscience, mineral extraction and processing, emissions reduction.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- In-depth knowledge of IP rights, particularly patents, confidential information and copyright; knowledge of trademarks, domain names and designs is desirable
- Experience in IP strategy development and execution (in mining and resources an advantage but not essential)
- Understanding of IP commercialisation, with experience in collaborative development and licensing models for creating, exploiting, and accessing IP to deliver value
- Experience in IP portfolio development and management with a focus on patents and digital innovation; experience in IP acquisition / transfers an advantage
