**About the team**:
Coles Express makes people’s lives easier. Whether our customers are filling up with fuel, grabbing a snack-to-go or dropping by for essentials, our team is there when and where Aussies need us.

The State Manager position will be a pivotal role during this exciting phase for the Express business, with its forthcoming transition from Coles Group to Viva Energy, backed by strong investment to support the exciting transformation roadmap that lies ahead.

**About the role**:
As the State Manager, you will work with and manage key relationships within the Store Support Centre, and uphold our customer-centric business focus & culture to deliver growth and service excellence within the stores.

You’ll also:

- Drive commercials: sales, profit and return on investment across 200+ sites through the implementation of best practices and business initiatives
- Manage, motivate and lead your teams to deliver outstanding customer service whilst increasing their capability to improve results and efficiency
- Lead and coach your teams, creating opportunities for succession and growth
- Analyse and identify performance gaps in operational standards and implement solutions to achieve required business metrics
- Work with the Support Centre teams to assist the delivery of store development programs

**About you and your skills**:
You have a proven history in managing a complex and high-volume multi-site retail business.

You’ll also have:

- Demonstrated ability to lead business growth through identifying and delivering business and customer experience initiatives and strategies
- Experience delivering high sales and profit contribution, achieving sales budgets and return on capital investment
- A hands-on leadership style, managing and motivating large teams and direct reports to deliver business growth and superior customer service
- A history of successfully implementing and/or managing significant retail change
