**The Role**:
As an Assistant Director, you'll play a pivotal role in our small yet high-performing team. You'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of critical portfolio and government issues, directly impacting the Australian community and industry. This role offers a unique chance to enhance your skills and professional networks, positioning you for future success in roles such as policy development, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Lead the preparation of high-quality meeting documents, including agendas, briefings, papers, and minutes, often under pressure.
- Maintain professional and constructive relationships with stakeholders.
- Liaise with other policy, regulatory, and operational areas within the department and across government to achieve organizational goals.
- Lead and develop the capability of team members to support secretariat duties effectively.
**Knowledge and Experience**:
- Demonstrated experience in complex environments, including consolidating advice from various sources.
- Experience in secretariat roles or similar, with a background in briefing senior executives and ministers.
- Strong project management and administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and facilitate collaboration.
- Experience leading and supporting staff in challenging and deadline-driven environments.
**Skills and Capabilities**:
- Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior management and diverse stakeholders.
- Capacity to provide high-quality advice on complex policy matters.
- Effective management of competing priorities while achieving team objectives.
