PEER is a not-for-profit industry-based Group Training Organisation (GTO) and an award-winning Registered Training Organisation (RTO), delivering nationally accredited training packages to meet South Australia’s skill development needs. As a GTO, PEER is the largest employer of apprentices within the building and construction industry in SA, with over 460 apprentices and trainees. Our apprentices are trained, coached, mentored and supported to be their best - as trade professionals and as individuals.
**About the Opportunity**
Due to continued growth, PEER is seeking an enthusiastic and confident professional to join our Group Training team in a new position. The Apprentice & Trainee Coordinator role is a hybrid role with overlying responsibilities between the Apprentice & Trainee Supervisor’s and the Apprentice Support Officer. There is a requirement for this role to work in both an administrative function as well as a field based role.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Assisting Apprentice & Trainee Supervisors to provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, support and guidance to apprentices and trainees as they work through their probation period
- Working closely with host employers by developing and managing strong, transparent relationships, to ensure host employers are fully engaged and active participants in the apprentice or trainees “on the job” learning and development
- Closely monitoring the progress, development and performance of each apprentice or trainee, making regular site visits and seeking feedback
- Running reports from relevant systems and consolidating and interpreting the data
- Assisting Recruitment with interviews and inductions
- Accurate and timely note taking and database management
- General admin duties
- Some out of hours work required to attend events, networking and career expos
