**Job Overview**

The Head of Business Development will lead the development of new partnerships for TerraCycle’s B2C, B2B and Retail partnerships teams for Australia and New Zealand by initiating and maintaining a dialogue around TerraCycle’s offerings with marketing and sustainability stakeholders across industries and brands.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Build and execute a national sales strategy for the business, including identifying new industries and verticals, in partnership with the executive leadership team
- Lead a team of sales managers and associates, ensuring team and individual sales KPIs are met, provide on-going guidance, coaching, training and feedback
- Develop an overall strategic account plan in conjunction with leadership to meet organizational goals
- Build and effectively maintain a healthy, balanced sales pipeline
- Create, lead and own client presentations and deals
- Drive the sales process and negotiations up until signature of contract or sales quote
- Support senior leadership, as appropriate, in realizing business development opportunities
- Coordinate and collaborate with other departments (Marketing, Account Management, Operations) to develop strategic projects, case studies or generate custom proposals and pricing as needed
- Negotiate and draft contracts (with legal team support)
- Maintain a record of all communications with prospective and/or active customers through our online CRM software
- Represent and promote TerraCycle during external events and workshops

**Requirements**:
**Desired Qualifications**
- Have a bachelors degree or higher in business management or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional experience including 2+ years of managerial experience with direct reports
- Experience in Business Development is highly desired
- Stellar business building results (business growth as main measure) and team building/coaching results (i.e. team growth, improved effectiveness, individual promotion etc)
- Experience in the CPG, FMCG or Retail space helpful
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment with changing priorities
- A problem solver, capable of thinking outside the box
- Team player, fun and hard worker
