Hospitality Worker

Bethanie is a leading not for profit aged care provider based in Western Australia. We are currently seeking **4 x dedicated Hospitality Workers** to join the team **providing support services at** **Bethanie Como Aged Care Home**. Bethanie Como is a 99-bed luxury facility that provides a full range of aged care services with a focus on allied health support and personalised care.

Successful applicants will form part of our **casual pool** who provide relief across both morning and afternoon shifts, as well as on weekends and public holidays.

We are ideally looking for applicants who are happy to work across one or more of the following roles:

- Kitchen Hand
- Domestic Assistant
- Laundry Assistant

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in food preparation, cleaning or laundering practices and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture.

**About You**

- Previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, Domestic Assistant / Cleaner or Laundry Assistant, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations

**The Roles**

**Kitchen Hand**

- Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
- Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals
- Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
- Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery

**Domestic Assistant**

- Ensuring bathrooms, toilets, furniture, fittings, floors and communal areas are kept clean and tidy
- Ensuring supplies are stocked across the facility
- Liaising with other employees to ensure the needs of our residents are met
- Ensuring residents' personal clothing is individually labelled and put away in their rooms, identifying items that require mending

**Laundry Assistant**

- Ensuring all laundry and linen is laundered correctly and infection control practices are adhered to
- Sorting and washing linen by wash temperature, colour, degree of soiling, infectious nature, fabric and fibre
- Loading and unloading washing machines and tumble dryers
- Sorting and folding clean and dry linen
- Reporting damage or wear and recommending repairs or replacement
