Hospitality Worker

Bethanie, Western Australia’s leading not for profit aged care and retirement living provider, has been warmly welcoming and caring for seniors for over 65 years. We are currently seeking experienced Hospitality Workers to provide support to residents at our Bethanie Gwelup Aged Care Facility. Bethanie Gwelup is home to a 112 bed aged care facility with secure dementia services, and has been designed, built and staffed to maximise resident’s enjoyment, lifestyle and well-being.

To be successful in this role, you will have a good eye for detail and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is one of the core components of this role.

We currently have one permanent part time role available, working 20 hours per fortnight across four shifts, but are also seeking applicants to form part of our casual pool who provide relief across both morning and afternoon shifts, as well as on weekends and public holidays.

**Week 1**

Wednesday 9am - 2pm

**Week 2**

Tuesday 1pm - 7.45pm, Wednesday 9am - 2pm, Thursday 9am - 1pm

**Key Responsibilities**:
The successful applicant must be willing to work across the following departments listed below:
**Kitchen Hand**
- Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
- Assisting is preparation, apportioning and serving of meals
- Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
- Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery

**Domestic Assistant**
- Ensuring bathrooms, toilets, furniture, fittings, floors and communal areas are kept clean and tidy
- Ensuring supplies are stocked across the facility
- Liaising with other employees to ensure the needs of our residents are met
- Ensuring residents' personal clothing is individually labelled and put away in their rooms, identifying items that require mending

**Laundry Assistant**
- Loading and unloading washing machines and tumble dryers
- Sorting and folding clean linen
- Emptying and cleaning tumble dryer filters regularly
- Reporting damage to clothing and recommending repairs or replacement
- Ensuring all laundry is washed and folded within the organisations standards of cleanliness

**About You**:

- Possess a passion for, and previous experience working as Domestic Assistant / Cleaner, Kitchen Hand or Laundry Assistant ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
- Have a “can do” attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to uphold the vision, mission and values of The Bethanie Group
- A current police clearance or willingness to get one
