The role
The Principal Policy Officer, Sustainability Performance and Engagement is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of effective strategies, policies, governance, data systems, standards and frameworks to deliver strategic, consistent and integrated approaches for environmental sustainability initiatives and programs across QH. This includes:

- Leading data management and reporting, including the analysis and interpretation of environmental and energy outputs for progress tracking and to inform decision making and target setting across all resource streams.
- Leading QH annual emission reporting, submissions for Queensland's Climate Action Annual Report and the legislative annual waste reporting for the Department of Health
- developing appropriate benchmarks and targets, and delivering state-wide reporting of progress against these performance benchmarks by HHSs and the department.
- leading the research of new, innovative, and evidence based best practice to inform the development and roll-out of fit for purpose environmental sustainability practices, programs and reporting across the health system
- developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to promote information sharing, collaboration and facilitate commitments, as well as communicating and promoting the program's objectives.

The successful person

**You will have demonstrated**:

- experience in leading the development of strategies, frameworks, governance, policies, systems and standards, including performance benchmarks, targets and reporting, that will demonstrate system-wide benefits.
- high level ability in conducting research and strategic analysis of emerging trends and patterns relating to sustainability programs to identify future investments and facilitate system-wide change.
- ability in leading the development and delivery of strategic communication activities and programs that will build, promote and advocate the business objectives and agenda.
