Leonard Joel is also renowned for The Auction Salon; a long-running and popular auction offering over 1,000 lots of Furniture, Jewellery, Art and Objects every week. The Auction Salon attracts a broad range of sellers and buyers, from interior designers through to seasoned collectors.

**The Role**

Leonard Joel have a great opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. Based at the head office in South Yarra and reporting to the Vendor Accounts Manager/Finance Manager, your role will be to assist the managers with processing of vendor payments as well as preparation of accounts reconciliation and other ad hoc finance tasks.

You will work closely with front of house and finance, department heads/managers, bidders & vendors hence your ability to build relationships, work cross functionally and deal with people at varying levels will be critical to your success.

This role will provide an opportunity to learn and develop your skills in Accounts whilst working alongside a small but very supportive team and could suit someone either starting their accounting career or a more experienced person who enjoys working in an assistant role.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure bidder payments are recorded accurately and timely;
- Reconciliation of cash & bidders’ payments;
- Ensure vendor selling details are current & correct
- Record & recoup 3rd party recharges;
- Data entry of accounts payable;
- Generate and issue invoices;
- Follow up receivables;
- Assist with preparation of sales journals and accounts reconciliation;
- Front of house cover.

**What are we looking for?**
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting or Accounting/Bookkeeping experience;
- Basic Excel skills;
- General Computer Literacy and ability to learn and pick things up quickly;
- Strong communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients;
- Proactive with high attention to detail;
- Pro-active with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
