I have partnered with a prestigious Melbourne-based institution as they search for an Infrastructure Operations Lead to join their Operations team and play a crucial role in managing the company's infrastructure environment.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Ensuring service availability and adherence to agreed service targets.
- Resource management, overseeing a team of 10 staff members.
- Developing and interpreting policy, operating procedures, strategies, and reporting mechanisms.
- Day-to-day management of the infrastructure environment.

**What You Need**: To excel in this position, you should have:

- Extensive Linux administration and tuning experience
- Proven people management skills, including the ability to inspire and nurture a top-performing team, effective performance management, and conflict resolution
- Comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and experience in programming, operating, and supporting large-scale cloud-based and native, high-performance computing (HPC) and advanced computing systems in support of research
- Exposure to software-defined infrastructure (e.g., OpenStack, associated hypervisors KVM, QEMU), software-defined storage (e.g., Ceph), and low-latency interconnects (e.g., RDMA)
