**The opportunity**
The Ancillary Services and Engagement Manager plays a key role in the review and execution of Bupa’s Ancillary Product Offering. The health insurance landscape is changing rapidly, and our ability to adapt to this changing environment is critical. As the Ancillary Services and Engagement Manager, your role will be paramount in ensuring that Bupa delivers the best possible health outcomes and value proposition for members at a sustainable cost to the Fund.
This includes working with business owners, sponsors and stakeholders, and influencing the decisions of key stakeholders based on your understanding of Private Health Insurance, our business needs, and the needs of our customers.
- This is a full-time permanent position and may be based at Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney offices when you are not working from home. (Bupa offers hybrid working and you can work from the office or at home)_
**How will I help?**
Key accountabilities include:
- Lead business readiness activities associated with industry changes that impacts general treatment services including changes to industry-based item numbers or clinical scope of practice
- General treatment association relationship management, including representation at industry forums to ensure Bupa Australia meets all existing, as well as any new, legislation requirements associated with Ancillary Providers and Services
- Make recommendations and coordinate introduction of new services and modalities including preparation of Business cases
- Manage implementation of new modalities and services into Bupa's Ancillary proposition including production of association and provider agreements, recognition criteria and claiming guidelines as required
- Manage existing ancillary claiming rules as well as implementation of common business rules and processes, associated with introduction of new modalities and industry changes.
- Provide leadership and advice to internal stakeholders to inform rationale and requirement of claiming rules and guidelines to assist with escalated customer enquires
- Draft content updates to Bupa's internal knowledge directory to reflect changes associated to Bupa's Ancillary proposition
- Support business initiatives on claiming and payment methods e.g. Digital cards or electronic claiming uptake

**What do I need?**
- Demonstrated experience in managing health fund ancillary offerings Proven ability to build effective internal/external business relationships at a senior level
- Understanding of the health insurance industry and legislation (PHI Act)
- Demonstrated understanding of ancillary product design and ancillary claims management
- Extensive Health Insurance industry experience (greater than 5 years)
- Strong analytical skills - particularly in relation to business processes
- Strong commercial acumen, forecasting, strategic and innovative thinking required
- Demonstrated understanding of Extras product design and Extras claims management
- Strong program/project management skills, with a proven track record in delivery of large-scale business projects & initiatives
- Tertiary qualifications and/or post graduate qualifications in Dental or Allied health profession highly desirable but not essential
- Ability to travel interstate for occasional planned travel
