Snow Australia (SA) is the nationally and internationally recognised National Sporting Organisation (NSO) for competitive snow sports in Australia and is affiliated with the Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS), the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), the Paralympics Australia (PA) and recognised by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC).

SA manages athlete pathways, conducts events and programs in Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, Snowboarding, Para-alpine, Para-snowboard and specialty sub discipline activities within each.

SA has led the development and is responsible for the management of the National Snowsports Training Centre (NSTC), located at Jindabyne Sport & Recreation Centre, Jindabyne NSW.

**About the role**

NSWIS is offering an exciting opportunity for a full-time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach role until the 31 December 2026. This position will be supporting the NSWIS Winter Sports programs and Snow Australia Performance Pathways Programs and will also require frequent attendance to NSWIS Headquarters in Sydney Olympic Park, NSW.

This position is based out of the National Snow Sports Training Centre (NSTC) in Jindabyne, NSW and is a dual funded role between NSWIS and Snow Australia. The role will require the successful applicant to provide Strength & Conditioning support across the following:

- NSWIS and Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA) scholarship athletes including face to face and remote programming.
- Snow Australia Performance Pathways programs including: Emerging Talent Program; National XC Team, National Alpine Ski Team

As required the role may also provide support to NSTC camps, teams, groups, and local community athletes.

In addition to the above the role will also be responsible for the facility operations and maintenance of the NSTC Strength & Conditioning Gym ensuring a safe high performance training environment.

In close consultation with program coaches the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will be primarily responsible for designing, implementing and leading strength and conditioning programmes to support the development of physical qualities and injury risk for Winter sport programs. The role will deliver technical expertise, services and support to enhance specific physical preparation to athletes and coaches as part of a transdisciplinary team, ensuring continuous development in line with the achievement of the performance outcomes for the NSWIS and Snow Australia Programs.

**About you**

If you have a passion for winter snow sports, outdoors and a desire to work and live in the Snowy Mountains then this opportunity is tailored for you.

You will have:

- 5+ years (3 years full-time) experience in conditioning / physical preparation program design and practical implementation with high performance athletes.
- A passion for Snow Sport.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently whilst collaboratively operating as part of a high-performance team / organisation, establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with key internal and/or eternal stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in working in a performance environment encompassing project and research work
- Ability to analyse, interpret, summarise, and communicate relevant data/results including strength and conditioning reports to athletes and coaches for improved performance
- Experience assisting in the maintenance, technical operation and related procedures/protocols of sport science equipment and facilities
- Experience with coordinating quality control, maintenance, and quality assurance programs
