The Opportunity
This is a new opportunity for an experienced Delivery Lead within the VNS Programs team to support the delivery of key projects in a complex, multi-platform technical environment and can be based out of our Melbourne or Sydney offices. The role will be required to work in an agile framework to support a cross functional Mission team to achieve its objectives. You will assist the Mission Lead to plan and manage the activities of the Mission Team. You will be responsible for tracking of the delivery of initiatives, facilitating key agile ceremonies for the mission & initiatives and support organisational governance, reporting and financial management requirements.
What you’ll be doing day-to-day
- Enabling effective delivery in an Agile environment by facilitating key mission ceremonies and events including sprint planning, daily stand-up, Mission backlog refinement, sprint review and retrospective meetings. Supporting the participation of the Mission Team in scaled events such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, among others.
- Working with the Mission Lead to plan the delivery of multiple, simultaneous initiatives through Scrums and non-scrum teams. Working with the Group Scrum Master to track and resolve dependencies within and across initiatives to enable the delivery to run smoothly and on time. Provide support to the Mission and Scrum teams including tracking and facilitating feature and epic readiness, UAT, business readiness activities, deployment activities, hyper-care, Go to Market activities and PIR processes in the order of priority and business value set by the Mission Lead.
- Supporting the Mission Lead by tracking and monitoring activities that support the development of initiative documentation from Define and Design through to Refine and Plan and Go to Market activities in the Mission Team. Manage financial tracking of initiatives (WOL) including opex and capex costs and resource management including timesheets. Supporting the identification tracking of delivery and security and other risks and regulatory obligations ensure these are documented and mitigated according to Vocus governance expectations.
- Managing the interactions with scrum, non-scrum teams and third parties not working within the scope of the agile operating environment, track dependencies and costs from Build & Test through to Release.
- Reporting delivery progress against the plan to the Mission Lead using the agreed metrics and escalating issues such as variances. Managing delivery by exception to ensure issues are understood and actions to resolve identified.
- Supporting continuous monitoring and evaluation of mission team activities as required to support effective management of initiatives, features and backlog of the mission team. Supporting and coaching their Mission teams in Agile methods and practices, ensuring alignment with the standard new ways of working.

What you’ll bring to this role
- Minimum 7+ years' experience in Project/Program Management within the Telcommunications domain is essential.
- Certifications and a strong understanding of all aspects of project cycle, including formal program/project management methodologies such as Agile/ PRINCE 2 / PMBOK is essential.
- Proven experience in leading and facilitating an agile delivery team (or responsible for delivery outcomes) within a complex and dynamic environment.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of agile methodologies, frameworks and tools, such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Jira, Trello
- Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, and the ability to adapt and respond to changing situations and priorities.
- High level of initiative, self-motivation, and accountability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Project/Program Management experience in the telecommunications sector or technology focussed organisation.
- Relevant experience in Business Process/Service Management - e.g. ITIL, Six Sigma an advantage
- Experience in managing third parties in developing and delivering statements of work by third parties in an enterprise delivery context an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders and vendors to deliver in highly matrixed organisations - i.e. can negotiate and coordinate delivery and support where they do not have direct line management control.
