The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an Offender Management Supervisor to play a critical role at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre.

**About the business unit**

The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria (CV), Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.

CV is responsible for the implementation of policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

CV also sets strategy, policy and standards for the management of the state's system of correctional facilities whilst also developing programs for the management and rehabilitation of prisoners and the community-based supervision of offenders.

As part of the CJS group, the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC) is a 568-bed medium to maximum-security facility for female offenders located within the West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice and Community Safety. DPFC recognises that women's pathway to offending is different to men and that women engaged in the criminal justice system often have a history of complex trauma. DPFC polices and procedures are gender responsive and based on Trauma Informed Practice principles.

**About the role**

The role of Offender Management Supervisors in prisons is to act as “change agents” by mentoring and training custodial staff regarding offender management practices, promote good practice through quality assurance activities and develop and improve their locations offender management processes to ensure they are in line with the Offender Management Framework.

You may be required to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays and attend to urgent work as required. Appropriate remuneration will be applied for the above in accordance with the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020.

**About you**
- Demonstrated knowledge the Reducing Re-offending Framework, the Offender Management Framework, Trauma Informed Practice Principles and offender management/case management practices in custodial settings.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a correctional environment including to a team of correctional staff.

**Qualifications**
- Completion of the Prison Officer Pre-service Training or a willingness to undertake and complete the provided Prison Officer Pre-Service Training is required.
- Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Custodial) or similar is desirable.
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment is desirable.
