The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Program Officer, Offender Risk Assessment to provide a critical role within the Offender Management Development Branch.
About the business unit
Justice Services is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's Community Correctional Services (CCS) across more than 35 locations. It ensures offenders are safely managed in the community and aims to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
About the role
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Offender Risk Assessment, the Program Officer, Offender Risk Assessment will be required to assist in the development of and implementation of processes which support the administration of risk assessment tools, coordinate and facilitate training, ensure operational guidelines are current, collect, analyse and report detailed information to consistently maintain integrity and enhance best practice supporting the risk assessment process.
**Some of your duties will include**:
- Provide specialist technical advice and training to CV staff conducting risk/needs assessments on prisoners and offenders.
- Provide quality assurance of the assessment processes and practices to assure the empirical integrity of the risk assessment tool is maintained, with a particular focus on efficient, effective and accurate processing of records.
- Monitor the demand for risk assessments in Prisons and Community Correctional Services across the state to ensure assessments are completed in a timely manner to assist in effective sentence and intervention planning.

About you
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the philosophy, operating procedures and manuals in relation to CJS's use of risk assessment tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Corrections Victoria data systems and ability to operationalise this knowledge to validate reporting outputs and provide quality assurance for completed assessments.
