**The Role**
The Australian Army G6 Directorate is seeking an APS 6 Business Intelligence Officer to join its’ team. As a core member of the Directorate you will be responsible for the management and governance of our budget, as well as establishing and managing contracts where required. This position is a key enabling role for the Directorate, and incorporates contract management, resource management, planning and analysis. This role requires a level of adherence to governance in resource and budget management, as well as reporting within Army and to external stakeholders. Importantly, the Army G6 Directorate is in a period of evolution and will be heavily reliant on an adaptive contract and resource manager to manage short notice changes to its resourcing and establishment of new contracts.

**About our Team**
The Army G6 Directorate team is a small and close knit team comprising full and part time military members and APS employees of all levels. The Business Intelligence Officer role will be located with the current operations function of the directorate, reporting to the Army G63 and working directly with the Directorate’s Canberra based staff. You will also form part of Army Headquarters Business Intelligence Officer Network.

There are multiple APS Business Intelligence Officer across Army Headquarters, and individuals are positioned across the headquarters to support military operations and capability delivery/development. These positions are part of an APS embedded workforce and work directly with Defence staff (predominantly Army).Working closely with multiple Army business units, this position will undertake complex reporting tasks as well as managing in-year resources, and contribute to ensuring the Directorate has an integrated approach to governance risk and compliance. This approach is a critical element of Army Headquarters’ operations, directly enabling Army to resource and execute the recruitment, training, and sustainment of land forces.
- Proven experience in the management of budgets and resources and corporate governance processes.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Contract management experience will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, and an ability to think strategically when solving problems.
- Experience with, or knowledge of, business intelligence systems.
- Interest in communications systems and architecture.
- The ability to interact positively with Army Headquarters Staff and as well as other Army stakeholders.
