**The Role**:
Seeking a highly skilled Communications Advisor to join this respected state government authority, to manage and deliver a range of communications activities across a significant program.

**VPS4 Equivalent | Four month contract | Immediate start**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordinating ministerial event briefings from beginning to end, including sourcing of all information, liaising with schools or early childhood facilities for event logistics, and event advancing to ensure seamless implementation
- Drafting speaking points for members of government
- Developing, managing and implementing communications strategies and plans for the VSBA's priority portfolios
- Providing ongoing communications support across the VSBA's programs and portfolios
- Assisting the Communications Managers in providing advice to the Authority's Executives, Ministerial Advisors and other internal teams on event opportunities, risk assessment, issues management, communications and stakeholder management strategies
- Developing or updating content for the website, social media and other promotional materials
- Working closely with the relevant parts of the VSBA to proactively seek out stories and communications opportunities
- Engaging with the community

**About You**:

- Knowledge of marketing and communications theory and practice.
- Expertise in one of the following: - strategic marketing and communications advice - events coordination and implementation - development of content for a range of channels, including speaking notes, social media and website
- Ensure written communications contain necessary information to achieve their purpose
- Confidently conveys ideas and information in a clear and interesting way
- Sees things from others' points of view and confirms understanding
- Understands and meets the needs of target audiences (i.e. the right information to the right people)
