**About the Role**:
The Manager, Languages and Bilingual Schools provides state-wide leadership and expertise to improve access and participation in languages learning across all year levels of schooling, supports teachers and leaders to deliver high quality languages education, contributes to improved student engagement, retention and achievement and promotes the value of languages learning.

The Manager leads the design, development, implementation and evaluation of high quality, evidence based departmental languages education, with a focus on outcomes and in alignment with departmental, state-wide, and national frameworks of best practice in languages education.

The Manager will work collaboratively within the Curriculum Development directorate, across the Curriculum and Learning division and with colleagues in the department and interstate to provide universal and context specific advice about languages education. The Manager also ensures coordination and consultation with key stakeholder groups for effective practice.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**: A tertiary qualification in a related education field.

**Desirable**: A post-graduate qualification in related fields of education

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
S121 5 $149,582 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%)
