**Assistant Director Communications and Engagement (EL1)**

**Duration**: 6 months
**Location**: Flexible, with preference for Canberra

We're seeking an **Assistant Director Communications and Engagement** (EL1) to join a highly regarded team supporting a prominent independent statutory board that drives innovation, science, and research investment across Australia.

**Key Responsibilities**

In this role, you will:

- Develop and execute stakeholder engagement, communications, and government relations plans.
- Identify communication opportunities for key stakeholders and craft compelling messaging and content.
- Create professional materials across platforms to influence and inform government, Ministers, industry, and the public.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality in messaging, with timely and responsive delivery.
- Plan and evaluate communication activities to achieve defined objectives.

**About You**

To excel in this role, you will bring:

- Proven experience in modern communication strategies aligned with APS standards, including social media content development.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under changing priorities.
- Independence, professional judgment, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Exceptional writing skills tailored for diverse channels and audiences.
- Flexibility to collaborate with a geographically dispersed team.
- Australian citizenship and ideally an active Baselne clearance
