The Sustainable Monash Department provides a range of services which support our community in providing a sustainable, healthy, and clean municipality. The Sustainability team work within the Sustainable Monash Department to maximise our resource recovery, and support the community and Council to adapt to a changing climate through sustainable practices and education.
About the Position
The Zero Carbon Program Lead will manage key infrastructure and operational projects to support the delivery of Council's Zero Net Carbon Action Plan 2020-2025 and enable the City of Monash to achieve carbon neutrality in its operations by 2025. There will be a focus on reducing operational greenhouse gas emissions and improving energy efficiency and climate resilience in key building, horticultural, civil and environmental related services and infrastructure.
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in coordinating major energy efficiency and/or renewable energy projects in buildings and construction, including mechanical and electrical services
Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, in particular to inform, persuade, convince, negotiate and build a consensus between stakeholders
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and best practice in Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD)
A good understanding of climate change, energy and sustainability challenges within a Local Government environment
Advanced understanding of project management principles across projects of a municipal and/ or commercial nature
Demonstrate experience in successfully managing multiple concurrent projects, including budget, project schedule and people management
