**The Company**
Our client is an award-winning organisation that prides itself on a customer-focused culture of innovation, best practice and continuous improvement. They are currently seeking a Zero Carbon Implementation Lead to support the delivery and transition of major facilities to implement their commitment to Carbon neutrality by 2028.
**The Role**
- Support delivery of the Corporate Emissions Reduction Plan, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and proactive management of organisational risks.
- Embed energy efficiency in the capital works programme for both new community buildings and major building upgrades.
- Provide scoping support and technical advice to Project Managers for their capital works projects to ensure implementation of the Sustainable Building Guidelines.
- Establish and participate in networks with industry experts and peers to facilitate shared learnings and knowledge.
**Key Roles and Responsibilities**
- Assess and implement activities to achieve Carbon neutrality, including electrification of community buildings, use of sustainable building materials and LED lighting.
- Scope and project manage the electrification and energy efficiency upgrade of offices.
- Review, maintain and champion Council's 'Sustainable Building Guidelines' to guide project scoping, project management, construction, maintenance and operation of facilities, providing technical support as required.
- Continue to remain updated in emerging technology to ensure exemplar ESD outcomes.
- Review and critique consultants' deliverables.
**About You**
You are a people person, with strong technical credentials, who understands that the greatest way to embed carbon neutrality in an organisation is through the engagement of the broader team. You have a good understanding of the strategic landscape and how your role fits in to the bigger picture.
**Required Skills and Proficiencies**
- Tertiary qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent. Post graduate qualifications in sustainable and energy efficient buildings or equivalent preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and policies
- Experience in change management and innovation, particularly in the ESD field, and influencing teams to adopt and deliver ESD outcomes as part of sustainable energy and efficient building projects.
- Sound analytical and conceptual skills and evidence of the ability to manage a variety of complex tasks concurrently under tight time constraints.
- Demonstrated community consultation and stakeholder management skills.
- Influencing and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal reasoning and report writing skills.
