**About the role**

The Supportive Care Consultant is responsible for providing information, support and

service referrals via telephone and face to face interactions with people diagnosed with

cancer, their family and members of the community, in addition to contributing to the day-to-day operations of the Rockhampton Hub. The role will also provide information and support services at a Cancer Treatment Centres.

This role is a Permanent Full-time role of 37.5 hours/week.

**About you**

To be successful in this role:
**Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills**
- Qualifications in Nursing or Allied Health.
- Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration or membership of respective professional body.
- Demonstrated experience in or a post graduate qualification in Oncology.
- Ability to manage, inspire and motivate individuals and teams to achieve targets.
- Organisational skills including the ability to organise, manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
- Experience in leading and motivating individuals with exceptional skills in organisation and project management.
- Experience in the provision of supportive care and an interest in working closely with people affected by cancer.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with people from all levels of the community.
- Ability to use sound judgment and to manage workloads within tight deadlines.
- Strong work ethic and resilience.
- Current Queensland Driver Licence is required.

The position provides face-to-face contact with patients at cancer treatment centres. To undertake work within these centres it is essential that you can provide evidence of vaccination against the following VPDs (vaccine preventable diseases)
- Measles and,
- Mumps and,
- rubella (MMR) and,
- varicella (chicken pox) and,
- pertussis (whooping cough) evidence of vaccination within the last 10 years and
- hepatitis B. (evidence of vaccination against).
