**What you will be doing and will be responsible for**:
The Head of Marketing and Communications at Adelaide United Football Club (AUFC) is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the club's marketing strategies, enhancing its brand presence, and effectively communicating with various stakeholders. This role plays a crucial role in promoting Adelaide United as a leading football club, attracting supporters, engaging sponsors, and ensuring a positive public image.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Brand Management, Communication and Public Relations, Digital Marketing and Social Media and Team Management and Collaboration are the main areas of responsibility for this position and include the below:

- Develop and implement the annual brand management plan (diagnosis, strategy and tactics) that is aligned with the Club’s overall business objectives.
- Conducting market research and analysis to understand the market, the total audience, trends, and opportunities.
- Develop the Club’s marketing strategy to identify the target audience, brand positioning and objectives.
- Create innovative marketing campaigns to increase ticket sales, membership, and merchandise revenue.
- Define and maintain a strong brand identity for Adelaide United, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and touchpoints.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan to effectively engage with fans, media, players, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Foster mutually beneficial relationships with key media outlets whilst developing a strategic communications plan focused on brand awareness and engagement.
- Develop and implement social media tactics that align to the objectives set out in the brand management plan.
- Manage the creative and design function, providing creative direction and leadership to the internal designer.
- Lead and inspire a small team of marketing and communications professionals to deliver on set goals and KPIs and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Develop the annual marketing program and promotional calendar.
- Report on performance against marketing KPIs and campaign/initiative effectiveness.

**‘What you look like’ and need to demonstrate to be successful**:
This role is suited to an experienced marketing leader with a successful and proven track record in achieving results and has:

- A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar leadership role with a track record of achievement in the key responsibility areas.
- In-depth knowledge of marketing principles, brand management, digital marketing, and social media platforms.
- Extensive experience with marketing of fan segmentation data and executing on a detailed branding strategy.
- Being customer-led, ensuring that every decision is made with their needs and preferences in mind and serving as a strong advocate for the fan within the organisation as well as actively fostering a company culture that revolves around putting the customer at the centre.
- Knowledge and experience across all facets of consumer insights and empathy for data.
- Ability to influence, communicate and negotiate with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong development and execution of a strategic plan.
- Understanding of the sports industry and the ability to adapt marketing strategies to the unique needs of a football club.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Clear and concise written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- A communicative and collaborative approach to working with stakeholders, both externally and internally.
