**Bring stories to life as an Assistant Editor (Clerk Grade 5/6)**

We are excited to announce an opening for an Assistant Editor within our Curriculum directorate.
- Location**:Parramatta**with access to flexible working arrangements available
- Salary: Clerk Grade 5/6 with base salary ranging from $99,938 to $110,271 per annum, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
- Temporary full-time opportunity up to four (4) years, with possibility for extension or conversion to ongoing

**About the Curriculum directorate**
The Curriculum directorate is responsible for supporting the implementation of policies and design of high-quality evidence-based resources and tools to support curriculum implementation across P-12. We coordinate special programs, and we lead the department’s response to the NSW Curriculum Reform.

**About the role**
The Assistant Editor provides editorial support to a range of stakeholders to ensure all public-facing documents across the Curriculum directorate meet the requirements of the department and the NSW Government. This includes editing, proofreading, formatting and delivering a large volume of print and digital resources that are compliant with the department’s accessibility, branding and style guidelines and requirements.

**Key knowledge and experience**:

- Proven experience in editing long and short-form content for a range of mediums, including print and digital, in line with a style guide.
- Proven experience in editing and formatting content in Microsoft Work and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

**Essential requirements**:

- Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment (or willing to acquire one)
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
