Research Assistant Grade 2- Gmp Cell Production

The Research Assistant position provides major assistance in laboratory work and is directed by the heads and senior Staff members of the Clem Jones Centre for Neurobiology and Stem Cell Research. The position will work within the Spinal Injury Project team which is delivering a clinical trial of a cell transplantation therapy for treating spinal cord injuries.

This position will assist with the time-critical isolation and production of human cells for transplantation for the clinical trial at the GMP facility, QGen Cell Therapeutics. The position will also assist with non-GMP cell biology experiments using human and rodent cells at Griffith University’s Nathan campus. This role will also provide some administrative assistance to the head and senior staff members, as well as support the research group activities and laboratory training.

This is a fixed term (12-month), full time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

**Salary Range**
The full time equivalent base salary for a Research Assistant Grade 2, will be in the range of $108,301 - $112,361 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $126,712 - $131,462 per annum.
**Qualifications**
The successful applicant will have a Bachelors degree with Honours or an equivalent combination of qualifications and/or relevant experience.

We are looking for a team member who has research experience in human GMP cell production, primary cell work and general cell biology. Experience in cell culture and aseptic techniques is essential. Prior experience in a cellular therapy laboratory or in GMP manufacturing is highly desirable. You will also have strong time-management skills and excellent attention to detail with good communication skills and strong capabilities of working in a large team.
