The Clem Jones Centre for Neurobiology and Stem Cell Research at Griffith University, led by Prof James St John, is looking for a Research Assistant to assist with the culturing of primary cells and cell lines of glial cells and neurons. This position is to support research led by Dr Mo Chen and funded by the Medical Research Future Fund to develop cell transplantation therapies for spinal cord injury.
**Job Description**:
The Research Assistant will work with a large team of researchers and will need to have excellent time management and teamwork skills.
This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position (with possibility of extension) and is primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
**Salary Range**
The base salary for a Research Assistant (Grade 2) is in the range $78,315 - $82,359 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $91,628 - $96,360 per annum.
**Qualifications**:
The successful applicant will have a Bachelors degree with Honours in biomedical science or a related field; or an equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience.
We are looking for a new team member who has research experience in cell biology and has good communication skills and strong capabilities of working in a large team. You will have strong time-management skills and excellent attention to detail.
