This stakeholder focused NFP organisation is responsible for providing industry with a stronger, informed and evidence based strategic voice to address skills and workforce challenges, supporting industry leadership of the vocational education and training (VET) system. This progressive organisation engages with a wide range of industries including the agribusiness supply chain to help that sector adapt to a changing skills landscape, including influences such as technological advances, shifting consumer needs, and natural events
The Australian skills and Vocational Education and Training (VET) systems are complex and require a strong evidence base for workforce planning. Input is sought from a diverse range of industry stakeholders and as such this Jobs and Skills Council has created a new role as
**Committee & Engagement Manager **to coordinate, manage and administer biannual stakeholder representative forums and three specialist committee meetings:
- Stakeholder Representative Forum and associated formal networks
- Specialist Sub-committees
- Technical working groups
- Working with Chairs, Committee members and staff to help establish and support the forums and committees
- Meeting organisation
- Organising meeting papers, including agendas, minutes, briefing papers and communiques
- Ensuring processes and procedures are followed and recorded
- Keeping appropriate records of meetings and consultations, including participation
Experience gained from working in a similar role is essential. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and operate in multiple team environments, recognising when you lead and when you support the activities of others. You will work closely with the other members of the Executive Committee to ensure there is appropriate service delivery to the Stakeholder Representative Forum and other committees. You report and are accountable to the Executive Manager, Stakeholder Engagement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Governance and secretariat support
- Development of policies and processes, and systems
- Prepare committee papers and packs - including minutes, agendas, charts, diagrams, reports, draft, edit, format, review, collate, coordinate. Follow up on various workstream contributions. Editing of committee materials, including registers and other reports
- Conduct associated research and collaborate reports for the committees
- Compile commentary about issues or action items and develop reports for the committee under guidance
- Attend committee meetings, take detailed, high-quality minutes, finalise and distribute as necessary
- Liaise with representatives and committee members as required
- Liaison with the Board governance team
Experience gained from working in a similar role is preferred as are any appropriate /relevant tertiary qualifications. As a tech savvy professional, you have great attention to detail, excellent stakeholder management, and record keeping skills and pride yourself on your ability to take detailed and comprehensive minutes.
