**About the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBS)**
The IBC is constituted with the authority to assess, review and approve all dealings involving genetically modified organisms at Austin Health. This includes use in both animals and humans. The committee has been established within the guidelines prepared by the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR).
