Are you a passionate Risk Assurance and Control leader ready to pivot your career at ready to make an impact? Join our growing Enterprise Risk team in this pivotal second-line role reporting in and working closely with the General Manager, Enterprise Risk.

**What You'll Do (key responsibilities)**:

- Build, recruit, develop and lead a team of high performing assurance and control specialists and analysts.
- Design and implement a centralised control testing and risk oversight program from the 2nd line.
- Manage the Assurance and Control Modules in HESTA's governance, risk & compliance system, and manage relationships third parties, including the internal Auditor and other Assurance providers.
- Maintain a rolling 3 year Integrated Assurance Roadmap.
- Develop and maintain an effective assurance and control framework, including policies, procedures, and guidelines, to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Partner and collaborate with key business teams to verify that appropriate controls and mitigation strategies are in place.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the Assurance and Control frameworks, and their operationalisation, to senior management and relevant stakeholders, including Executives and Board.

**About you (experience and qualifications)**:

- Extensive experience as a Senior Risk, Assurance and Control Advisor/Lead/Manager preferably within financial services and/or superannuation fund industries
- Knowledge of Design Thinking / Agile methodology and project delivery experience
- System design experience and exposure to GRC Solutions, Technology products or similar
- Leadership experience
- Ability to navigate complex organisational structures and work effectively with cross functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, presence and gravitas
- Effective stakeholder relationship and vendor management
- Tertiary qualifications in a business, commerce, law, risk and compliance management or related discipline
