**About the Role**
As a Community Support Worker working across our Community Access service, you will play an essential role in supporting and empowering people with disability to live a life of their choosing. Working independently, you will provide a range of services assisting clients to live independently, be actively involved in their local community, and engaged in meaningful opportunities.
This is a permanent part time position offering a 50 hour contract per fortnight. Shifts vary from 6am - 7pm Monday - Sunday and are located primarily across the Port Stephens area but flexibility to work across Maitland, Hunter Valley ( no more then an hour drive ) is a must.
**Key focus**
Supporting clients to live an active lifestyle and participate in their community
Work to behaviour support plans by utilising positive behaviour strategies
Assist and support clients with personal and hygiene care
Household and manual handling tasks such as menu planning, cooking and cleaning
Maintenance of progress notes and record-keeping
Communicating effectively with families, to provide regular updates on clients progress
**About You**

Disability experience is essential
Demonstrated experience in behaviours / high needs is preferred
Ability to prompt others with personal and hygiene care
Personal qualities of resilience, empathy and self-confidence
High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude while acting with integrity, honesty and respect
Must have own vehicle that can fit a wheelchair in the boot
