**About the role**
The casual Youth Services Facilitator will work as part of an effective team that supports young people aged 10- 25 through a variety of prevention and early intervention services including supporting the facilitation of group programs, activities and events.
**Job tasks & responsibilities**
- Ensure all young people that access our service are made to feel welcome, safe and included
- Facilitate centre and community-based programs, activities and events that address a variety of needs.
- Provide support to the team in the planning, development and promotion of youth programs, activities and events.
- Support the operations of the Youth Services facilities (Youth Centres) and program locations by ensuring that the working environment is safe for young people, staff, service users and volunteers.
**Skills, experience and other requirements**
- Ability to engage and support young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to participate with young people in high energy activities.
- Ability to facilitate programs and activities for young people.
- Knowledge and skills to provide information, referral and advocacy for individual young people in a manner that demonstrates cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Ability to manage workload to a high standard
- High level of verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collegiately with other team members, the community and other stakeholders
- High level of problem solving and decision-making ability
- Ability to manage own time, set priorities, and plan work to achieve agreed timeframes
- A minimum Certificate 4 Level Qualification in Youth Work, Social Science, Youth Recreation or relevant discipline.
- Understanding of the No Wrong Door model of practice
- Experience in local government or large and complex organisations
- An Employee Working with Children Check
- Preparedness to undertake an Australian Criminal History Check
- Member or eligible for membership of the Youth Workers Association (YWA).
- Level 2 First Aid.
- A valid Driver’s Licence
