he Positive Lifestyle Program (PLP) is a highly successful initiative developed by The Salvation Army Australia, designed to bring about positive behavioural changes for participants. The PLP Facilitator’s role is to take participants through each session to enhance their self-awareness and to better understand their personal life strengths. A key role in changing lives for the better - not just for participants but also for those close to them and the wider community.
- Key tasks and responsibilities

Schedule appointments and preparation
- Using your keen organisational skills, book and confirm appointment times with participants, or provide encouraging follow up if participants are unable to make their appointment or do not show
- Considering access, privacy and WHS requirements, organise a suitable space to meet and prepare materials in advance
- Make the participant feel welcome and comfortable

Facilitate sessions
- Being well-prepared is key by reading through the material prior to each session and reviewing previous session notes
- Taking note of the participant’s needs, refer them to suitable services and respond proactively according to urgency

Post facilitation
- Using your diligent attributes, complete PLP survey, evaluation and self-reflection forms and ensure all working notes are disposed of according to Australian Privacy standards
- Celebrate your participants by printing a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program
- Qualifications and skills required
- Positive Lifestyle Program Facilitator Training
- Ensure you have a good understanding of legislation and The Salvation Army requirements surrounding mandatory reporting and privacy
- Compassion and experience required to support those with challenging life circumstances, behaviour and vulnerabilities
- Capabilities and personal attributes

- Background check requirements

Background checks play an important part in our commitment to being a safe organisation. Below is what is required for this role:

- As this role works closely with people experiencing vulnerability and sensitive information, a Criminal History (Police) Check is required
