Job Description
  • 1 day per week, until June 2026 with the possibility to extend
  • Based in Port Macquarie, on the lands of the Birpai People, onsite
  • $ $48.99 -Level 4 SACS Agreement + 12% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550

About the Reconnect Program

Reconnect is part of Each's Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drugs services, supporting young people at risk of homelessness and their families. The team is passionate about early intervention, empowering youth to overcome barriers and build brighter futures.

Your role, your impact

As a Youth Worker, you'll make a real difference for young people facing complex challenges. You'll:

  • Facilitate intake and assessment to identify eligibility and needs.
  • Develop and monitor individual plans with clear outcomes and goals.
  • Provide flexible, timely case coordination and ongoing support.
  • Utilise early intervention strategies (individual, group, motivational activities).
  • Create innovative approaches for working with youth at risk of homelessness.
  • Offer proactive youth-focused activities (sport, art, career-based).
  • Deliver culturally sensitive services for ATSI and CALD backgrounds.

Who we're looking for

You're passionate about supporting vulnerable youth and thrive in a collaborative, inclusive team. You bring:

  • Experience working with young people, especially those facing complex issues.
  • Understanding of adolescent development and transition challenges.
  • Ability to engage schools, education, and employment providers.
  • Well-developed counselling, mediation, and case management skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certificate IV in Youth Work or relevant tertiary qualifications.

  • Experience working with Indigenous communities.
  • Knowledge of local services, networks, and referral pathways.
  • Computer literacy (Windows, Word, Email, Excel).
