The City of Perth is seeking a Council Governance and Policy Officer to support the oversight of the Council Governance and Policy frameworks to facilitate a values’ driven culture that supports a workforce of accountability, integrity, and respect.

This position plays an important role in Council Governance function to enhance the formal decision-making process of the City, from coordination of the local government’s elections and supporting processes, to the development of procedure to ensure business continuation.

As the Council Governance and Policy Officer, you will support the City by:

- Preparing and coordinating meeting processes, inclusive of agendas and minutes for elected members facing meetings such as Council, Committees, and Electors Meetings, plus Elected Member Engagement Sessions.
- Facilitating the development and review of Council policies to support the City’s strategic direction and to comply with legislative requirements.
- Providing research, report, and policy preparation assistance in relation to the various requirements of the Local Government Act.
- Supporting general Council Governance responsibilities for the Council Governance Team and undertaking governance-related projects as directed.
