**Overview**:
The purpose of the Head of Product is to develop the most on trend, exciting product for the Beginning Boutique customer. This is a hands-on role, you will be buying as well as strategising. You will lead strategy and execution to meet business growth goals with your team. You are key to setting and executing the assortment direction within the business that is fresh and trend led.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work alongside the senior executive team for overall business strategy input to maximise profit, growth and uphold values.
- Set strategy and execute the strategy for each season for the product team.
- Set and ensure team achieves sales budgets, gross profit margin budgets, markdown targets and closing stocks
- Undertake buying work for categories as required.
- Work with the planner to achieve business goals weekly through trade meetings.
- Undertake local and overseas buying trips as required

**Requirements**:

- To be successful in this role you will need to have the following;
- Fashion/Design/Merchandising Degree or Diploma or Business/Commerce Degree
- Post graduate education in business fashion or design.
- Minimum 10 years experience in buying
- Minimum 5 years experience in leadership of a team
- 1 year experience on senior executive team
- Knowledge and exposure to quality control and fitting of garments
- Understanding of buying/planning principles
- Managing direct reports
- Fabrication or other technical knowledge
- Offshore buying and international travel experience desirable
- Understanding retail arithmetic
- Understanding of critical path
- Creative and Innovative
- Exceptional Verbal and written communication skills
- Planning and organising skills
- Knowledge of eCommerce and retail industries
- Customer focused
- Growth mindset
- Ability to work with key stakeholders
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
