Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Contracts, you will lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the contractor and consultant management frameworks and associated guidelines and processes. Your role will include assisting with the development and review of contract documentation through the tender process, and providing expert feedback as required. Working closely with Project Directors, you will monitor, recommend improvements, and manage performance matters including resolving disputes and performance issues using a wide variety of financial and performance related information. You will be required to lead multi-discipline negotiation teams in complex negotiations, consulting and engaging with legal, financial, and other parties as required. You will develop and manage action plans to manage the risk at a contract level for large, complex, and long-term contracts implementing appropriate measures to identify risks on an on-going basis. The role will ensure that processes are in place to support payment of supplier invoices against contractual terms and conditions, and any reductions for under-performance or non-delivery are accurately recorded.
The successful person
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental principles, theories, concepts, processes and procedures in construction and consultant contract administration. Although not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded with the ability to travel to different locations depending on project and team requirements. You will have experience in providing advice in relation to legislation, policies and standards relating to the provision of purchasing and contract management applicable to State Government organisations. Knowledge and understanding of a range of legal and contractual requirements within a State Government Service or healthcare environment would be beneficial with experience providing contractual advice to management and senior executives. You will be able to manage complex issues, work under pressure, and meet deadlines with strong experience in stakeholder relationship management to support effective business changes.
