Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)...Your chance to work with the best
Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class 'ETCS' signalling system.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
About the Role
As a Contracts Manager with Cross River Rail, you will play a key client-side role in the commercial delivery of one of Queensland's most significant infrastructure projects. Working within a collaborative contracting environment, you will provide contract management support, assist in resolving commercial issues, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
You will work closely with project delivery teams, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve best-for-project outcomes in an alliance model. This is an opportunity to contribute to a city-shaping initiative while leveraging your expertise in contract management and commercial strategy. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this position will be offered as a two-year contract with possible extension.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Assist with the development and management of commercial strategies to resolve complex contractual issues efficiently.
Provide contract management advice to the Project Delivery team and stakeholders in relation to commercial issues and implications.
Support the early identification and management of risks, issues and changes including assurance of commercial and budget documentation.
Assist with strategic negotiations with contractors and stakeholders to ensure high performance and innovation.
Draft and manage contract correspondence and documentation in line with governance requirements.
Oversee minor contract disputes, ensuring timely and favourable resolutions.
Prepare reports and briefing materials for senior management on commercial matters.
Work with SME's to understand and support the resolution of project technical issues and their commercial implications.
Manage or assist in the management and resolution of contractual disputes.
**About You**:
5+ years of experience in contract management and administration, ideally in large infrastructure or complex construction projects.
Strong ability to manage contractual investigations and provide insights for commercial decision-making.
Excellent written communication skills, with experience in government or tier 1 contractor environments preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
Understanding of and experience with alliance and collaborative contracting models high regarded.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in fields such as Quantity Surveying, Business, Engineering, Law, or Construction Management are highly regarded.
Why work with CRRDA?
On Cross River Rail you will not only work with the best but become your best. And as we enter a new phase of delivery, our project offers a rare career opportunity for top tier professionals to have played their part on something that is genuinely city shaping and transformative.
Our people are supported with flexible work options, career development through the Australian Institute of Management, salary packaging and access to world class employee assistance provider Telus Health.
At Cross River Rail we are an equal opportunity employer and strive to build balanced teams from all walks of life.
