**The Role**
The Technical Specialist - Aeronautical Information (AI) Production’s primary role is to deliver specified work packages to optimise current AI production capabilities, enabling Aeronautical Information Service - Air Force (AIS-AF) to better meet Australian Defence Force (ADF) aviators’ AI requirements. The Technical Specialist - AI Production reports directly to the AIS-AF Production Manager and collaborates closely with other team leaders to enhance production activities; from sourcing flight critical aeronautical information through product compilation, to publication, and ultimately product distribution.
The Technical Specialist - AI Production works in a dynamic environment with time pressures to meet International Civil Aviation Organisation distribution cycles and short notice Australian Defence Force contingencies.
**About our Team**
Aeronautical Information Service - Air Force (AIS-AF) is an Air Force unit responsible for the provision of timely, accurate and relevant Aeronautical Information Publications (AIP) that supports Australian Defence Force (ADF) operations globally.
AIS-AF is responsible for the production of both paper and digital AIP with a specific focus on Australia, Asia and the Indo-Pacific region.
The current challenges for the team are the developing/formalising materials and delivering in-house training. In addition deriving production plans from user requirements, documenting requirements, supporting development, and conducting acceptance testing for production software and system updates.
Qualifications in PANS-OPS Instrument Flight Procedure design or digital aeronautical information data analysis, review, & coding, with a minimum 3 years of experience, is highly desirable. Experience in both of these areas will be highly regarded.
