**The Role**
Exciting opportunities exist to join our fast paced and results oriented Financial Performance and Management (FP&M) Division within the Defence Finance Group (DFG). We are also looking to establish a merit list to fill any future vacancies across the Group. DFG leads financial management across Defence, delivering financial oversight, strategies, management and assistance to achieve Defence’s Intended Results. DFG is looking for motivated people to work at the APS 5 and APS 6 level for various vacancies throughout FP&M Division.

As an APS 5 Financial Officer or APS 6 Financial Advisor in the FP&M Division you will combine your passion for finance with your passion for stakeholder management. You will have the ability to analyse and interpret financial information such as budgets and management reporting and enjoy working with others to understand complex issues, analysing results and an ability to communicate your findings. As an APS 5 Financial Officer or APS 6 Financial Advisor you will assist DFG’s clients by undertaking a range of financial analysis tasks and activities.

As you progress with FP&M Division you will have the opportunity to have a “seat at the table” with some of the most respected leaders in Australia. Information you provide will be relied upon to make decisions of national significance, information that helps shape major national operations and initiatives.

By partnering with business areas you will see the direct impact of the work you deliver and how it affects broader operational outcomes. Each operational area you support helps you to build a deeper understanding of Defence’s mission, as you build your career. You will also have the opportunity to work in blended teams with diverse stakeholder groups that will challenge the way you think and help you develop stronger communication skills.

**About our Team**
FP&M Division delivers financial advice and performance reporting to Groups and Services, Ministers and other government departments, across all Defence programs and activities including workforce, capital, sustainment and operating budgets.
