Tell me about this role:

Amentum is seeking the services of a Data and Configuration Management Specialist to support the Aeronautical Information Service which is responsible for the provision of aeronautical data, products, and services for the integrated force. These data are essential for the safe and efficient operation of Defence air, land, and sea platforms, as well as providing situational awareness for planners and mission executioners.

You will be responsible for the creation and provision of certified data in the form of compiled Australian Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (AusDAFIF) navigation databases for multiple Army Aviation platforms.

This role offers uncapped training and development opportunities as well as other benefits including free parking, flexible working and different leave arrangements including paid parental, study, Defence reserve and volunteer leave.

What will I be doing day to day?

  • Compile and disseminate recurring Aeronautical Information Regulation and Control (AIRAC) cycle (28 days) Navigation database for UH-60M, CH-47F and AH-64E in order to support US Army initiated capability upgrade
  • Establish procedures for data validation in support of Type 2 Letter of Acceptance (LOA) certification including quality control, and compliance with DASR regulations and standards
  • Other tasks in support of Army Aviation.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Army Aviation Systems Branch

What sort of skills do I need?

  • Completed or commenced a Bachelor of Aviation; or
  • Completed or commenced a Certificate IV in Aviation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Process orientated with good attention to detail
  • ITAR compliant
  • Hold a minimum Baseline security clearance (must be an Australian citizen)
