**The Opportunity**
The Service Desk Officer in the Information Services Directorate provides first-level support for software, hardware, and network issues. The role emphasises responsive, high-quality service, prioritises customer needs, and maintains oversight of all incidents and requests until resolution.

Reporting to the Senior Support Services Officer, the Service Desk Officer is responsible for:

- Addressing ICT-based incidents and with a focus on resolution at the initial point of contact.
- Undertaking research and analysis to provide advice, information and correspondence that supports the delivery of assigned agency programs, projects, systems, policies and/or services.
- Contributing to a high standard of customer service for internal and external clients and quality management and risk.
- Ability to adapt communication style based on situation and audience.
- Analysing customers' ICT needs, using clear and concise communication, tact and diplomacy, and maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
- Consistently manage high volumes of work, pay close attention to accuracy and detail and meet SLA targets and deadlines.

**Qualifications**
ITIL certification desirable.

Relevant tertiary certification desirable.

**Special Conditions**
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

**Tenure of Vacancy**
Temporary appointment up to 12 months. An extension or conversion to an ongoing role will be considered after this period.

**Remuneration**
ASO3 - $67,589 to $72,033 pa + superannuation.
