**Join one of the Queensland Government's departments as they continue on a new project aimed at improving Government buildings and resources This innovative and highly important department is looking to bring on a Project Officer for a 4-month contract (with high likelihood of extension) to support their dynamic and fast-paced team.**

**About the Role**:
As a Project Officer, you will:

- Provide leadership and expertise to multi-disciplined project teams in the areas of capital works, energy and environmental sustainability, in support of the Department's office and property portfolio, as well as the Queensland Government's environmental commitments.
- Provide advice to asset/property managers and service providers on electric vehicle infrastructure and electrical services related issues.
- Provide project management expertise with regards to the identification and delivery of major and minor projects, including the electric vehicle infrastructure program and the QGAO environmental strategy.
- Monitor and report on project deliverables, project schedules, and program budgets in accordance with correspondence and briefing notes.
- Define, create and develop capital works, energy and sustainability programs and strategies in a manner consistent with departmental policies and the QLD government's environmental commitments.
- Review the performance of electrical services within the Department's office and property portfolio.
- Provide timely and well-researched advice on marketplace conditions and industry trends, to contribute towards the development of effective and efficient program management strategies.
- Manage a portfolio in accordance with identified business strategies and policies as directed, including management of revenue and expenditure, ensuring that investment returns are maximised.

**About You**:

- Have experience working in a Queensland Government department in an AO4 Project Officer role or above.
- Have experience or a background in electrical engineering/electrical construction AND/OR environmentally sustainable buildings.
- Have an understanding of legislations and environmental parameters regarding installation of electrical equipment.
- Be an effective multi-tasker who can quickly adapt to last-minute legislative changes.
- Enjoy challenge and diversity in their work
